The Manager, Flight Operations Performance oversees the execution of cross departmental and divisional operations performance initiatives and programs as a representative of the Chief Pilot's office. This role exercises considerable judgment to make decisions related to the Fatigue Risk Management Plan and conducts analysis to provide recommendations to improve Flight Operations' operational performance and productivity.
Scope & Complexity
As a people leader, this role manages Flight Operations performance and program activities for Alaska Airlines.
Supervises the execution of projects and initiatives for the Chief Pilot's office and represents the Chief Pilot within the division and with other divisions.
Exercises considerable judgement to make decisions in the development and success of the Alaska Airline's Fatigue Risk Management Plan (FRMP) ensuring high standards of safety and performance are met.
Guides the daily work of the Flight Operations Training Center Coordinator and delegates program related tasks as needed.
Leads team and establishes priorities of the Pilot Modified Duty Program including hiring, directing daily work, and tracking modification requirements.
Performs ad-hoc analyses to identify root cause issues and makes recommendations and implements solutions to improve productivity (e.g. management of sick time, leave, delays, or schedule).
Responsible for overseeing the tracking and reporting of the pilot group performance in preparation for Flight Operations Performance Leadership (OPL).
Proactively guides pilots on preparing thorough tarmac delay reports to ensure compliance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated program and prevent violations and fees.
Partners with IT in the administration of the pilot website and iPad to ensure pilots have access to all necessary operational, safety and company information/communication.
Represents Flight Operations interests in the pilot hiring process.
Plans and implements diversity and inclusion, pilot hiring and development programs.
Partners with talent acquisition team to ensure Alaska Airlines is attending the appropriate hiring/network events and attends and represents Alaska. Manages Flight Operations Pilot Intern program and assignments.
Develops people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback focusing on delegation, coaching, managing performance of individuals in executing tasks, and time management.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
A minimum of 4 years of aviation experience, with a background in multi-pilot crew aircraft or Flight Operations.
A Bachelor of Arts or Science degree with a focus in an aviation or business-related field, or an additional two years of training/experience in lieu of this degree.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, understand the root causes of issues, and to resolve in a thorough manner.
Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), operations specifications, and Flight Operations Manuals.
Strong interpersonal skills facilitating effective verbal and written communication at all levels in the organization.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Detail oriented and highly organized, with the ability to multi-task and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced, safety oriented environment.
Flight Operations, dispatch or pilot experience.
A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
Experience using Tableau, running analyses, and interpreting results.
